On February 2nd, Kipper celebrated her 40th birthday—a milestone meant to be filled with joy and celebration. However, just days after her birthday, Kipper received the devastating news: she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer. The cancer has spread rapidly, and her family is in shock and disbelief.

On February 2nd, Kipper celebrated her 40th birthday—a milestone meant to be filled with joy and celebration. However, just days after her birthday, Kipper received the devastating news: she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer. The cancer has spread rapidly, and her family is in shock and disbelief.

When we first learned about Kipper's diagnosis, we were shocked as none of us had heard of Triple Negative Breast Cancer, so we immediately began researching. What we discovered was both sobering and alarming: Triple Negative Breast Cancer is defined as being negative for the estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor, and HER2 biomarkers. Unfortunately, this means that the targeted therapies used for other types of breast cancer don’t work for this rare and aggressive form.

Since her diagnosis, Kipper has already undergone multiple rounds of chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments. She is losing her hair, and her body is being pushed to its limits—but this is only the beginning of her long and challenging journey. No one should face this battle alone, so we are reaching out to our community of family and friends to ask for your immediate support.

We need your help uplifting Kipper during this incredibly difficult time, whether through prayers, advice if you or a loved one have experience with this type of cancer and any financial assistance you can offer.

Kipper, Chris, and Kamia recently moved to Hendersonville, TN, to start a new life and a new business, The Body Odyssey, when Kipper received the devastating TNBC diagnosis. Kipper is receiving her cancer treatments at Vanderbilt Cancer Center, and with Kipper unable to work, this is taking an enormous financial toll on their family.

Please keep her husband, Chris, and their 13-year-old daughter, Kamia, in your thoughts and prayers. Their lives have been turned upside down, and the emotional and financial toll on this young family is unimaginable. They need all the prayers, love, and financial support we can give them during this gut-wrenching time.

 On March 30, 2025, our family tragically and very suddenly lost my dad, Jimmy Ramos. This was unexpected and we were unprepared in every way. Along with the unforeseen costs of emergency care, funeral home services, and the utility bills that still demand our attention, we are asking for help from our family, friends and community. There

Along with the unforeseen costs of emergency care, funeral home services, and the utility bills that still demand our attention, we are asking for help from our family, friends and community. There was no life insurance policy in place, so my mom only has what remains in her savings account and what she brings home from working her library job. If you know my mom, then you know she is the kindest human being and is ready to help anyone in need and has spent her whole life doing just that. Any amount helps and is greatly appreciated, no matter how small the donation. To those who have already helped, we are forever thankful and blessed to have you in our lives. We couldn’t do this without you. Please keep my family in your thoughts as we navigate this tragedy moving forward.

Our community has grown into a powerhouse organization making a major difference here in Western North Carolina. Food access, deeply affordable housing, racial equity, healthcare on the streets, cultural celebrations, enrichment and school supplies for our kids – we dream towards possibilities and strive to show up together and be whatever our community needs, whenever the need is there.

In 2009, we started our journey to create a transformational way of life rooted in community and working to create Home, Health, Equity, and Opportunity for all in our mountain home.
